Food Rules by Michael Pollan on Huffington Post

"If it came from a plant, eat it: if it was made in a plant, don't."

"Eat all the junk food you want as long as you cook it yourself."

From "Food Rules" by Michael Pollan. To read more about his inspiration for his new book see Michael Pollan's post on Huffington Post: "Food Rules": A Completely Different Way To Fix The Health Care Crisis. He gathered some of his rules by from comments by readers of the New York Times Well Blog post Michael Pollan Wants Your Food Rules.

Our Family Is His said...

I just forced myself to sit through about half of Food, Inc. Oy vey! I am so disgusted right now I don't want to even drink a glass of water. I will watch the rest of it tonight after the boys go to bed (they woke up, which is why I had to turn it off at that point). There were a few parts I had to avert my eyes from, it was just too much for me. And this is how our food is processed each day. I would be more distressed if I hadn't just found an all natural, grass-fed, organic farm not 2 miles from my home that allows you full access to their facilities, and the price is actually CHEAPER than the meat I buy in the store (I buy the better cuts, so that's why. Not concerned about that being an indicator of anything.). I am taking my tour very soon, maybe today if I can get it in.
